Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Endcliffe parkrun Results Page. The event was made possible by 38 volunteers: Representatives of 63 different clubs took part. This week 549 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 80 were first timers and 81 recorded new Personal Bests. I would highly recommend visiting Endcliffe parkrun as a tourist, as it was so easy to get to and easy to park. There is also a lovely café within the park where I managed to get a takeaway cup of tea for my journey home.Īll in all, Endcliffe parkrun is a lovely course with lots of support from the marshals. There were also tree roots to look out for, so plenty to concentrate on whilst running. The course was 2½ laps of Endcliffe Park, which was lovely with all the autumnal colours there was a mixture of terrain, from tarmac paths to trail paths, with a few gentle hills, and a very short but narrow pathway at one point. The start did seem a little congested and we were told to keep right as the faster runners would soon be coming passed us on our left, but this soon thinned out as we made our way around the course. We listened to the briefings and made our way to the start, just managing a few pre-run photos before it was 3-2-1 parkrun.

Her boyfriend was doing his first ‘unofficial’ parkrun, as he hadn’t printed his barcode! My niece has done a few parkruns at my home run (Market Harborough) and did do Endcliffe for the first-time last weekend, but forgot her barcode, so this weekend was her first official Endcliffe parkrun.

I located the toilets next to the café, and then made my way back to the grass area to meet my niece and her boyfriend.

I certainly needn’t have worried, as I managed to park easily in the park (for a small charge). Nonetheless, I set off from Chesterfield at 7.30am (!) just to be sure that I’d be able to park my car.

Parking was a concern for me, but the Endcliffe Event Director advised that while there was very limited parking within the park itself, there was plenty of free on street parking on the roads around the park. Once we’d agreed on the weekend, I set about looking for nearby accommodation however, after much deliberation and Google searches, together with asking advice from the Endcliffe Event Director and a parkrun discussion group, I decided to stay in Chesterfield and make the 10-mile journey on Saturday morning. I chose Endcliffe parkrun this weekend for a spot of tourism tied in with a visit to see my niece, Heidi Lloyd Williams, who is studying in Sheffield.
